Moneris Solutions, Canada’s largest processor of debit and credit card transactions, was scattered through the three towers of the Sun Life Financial Centre. The company negotiated a lease that would move all their facilities into one tower. Moving out of the other two towers was split into phases in order to reduce disruption and down times. Phase one was the relocation of the call centre, including new training rooms. This operation runs extended hours, so scheduling the move was critical. The second phase involved the backbone of the company, its computing facilities, offices and staff. A new back-up generator was put on the roof.

Marketing and Sales and the Sales call centre moved to a new floor. The Executive group, Human Resources, Finance and Legal departments were phase four, complete with a state-of-the-art boardroom facility. The final phase involved the renovation of two existing floors in the tower and extended over several months, as these two floors remained occupied throughout their renovation.

Workstation and furniture standards and a standardized colour scheme were developed. Upgraded security, emergency and health and safety procedures, and a new corporate “look” complete with exterior building signage were all part of the project.
